Mostly sunny and hot with light afternoon winds today. Expect Reno to reach 101° and Montreux 96°. Some clouds and morning showers, mainly over the Sierra will give way to mostly sunny skies by late morning. Look for mostly sunny skies, a chance for an afternoon thunderstorm and light winds except around thunderstorms where outflow gust can reach 40+ mph. Best chance for thunderstorms today will be south of Hwy 50 and east of the Truckee Meadows. Temperatures will remain in the 100's in Reno and Valley locations through Monday with sunny skies, mostly dry conditions and increasing afternoon Zephyr winds. Likely we will see the heat wave break mid next week with more seasonal temperatures and increasing chances for afternoon thunderstorms. Stay hydrated and seek shelter around any thunderstorms.
