Partly sunny and cool with strong winds today. Expect Reno to reach 76° and Montreux 72°. A big change for the weekend, cloudy skies this morning will give way to partly cloudy skies this afternoon. Winds will ramp up later this morning, expect steady winds to reach 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Temperature will be well below the seasonal average of 89° in Reno. A RED FLAG WARNING for critical fire danger has been posted for today and Saturday with strong winds, gusts to 45 mph, and low humidity in our region. Slight chance for a thunderstorm overnight into Saturday morning. Saturday temperatures will remain in the 70's in Reno with sunny skies and continued strong winds. Possible thunderstorms again Saturday night into Sunday morning. Very cool, maybe in the 60's in Reno Sunday with sunny skies and lighter winds. Monday and into mid week we will see sunny skies, dry with light winds and temperatures below to near seasonal averages by the end of the week. Batten down the hatches this windy weekend !!
